My friend James sent me a wonderful bottle of wine, TULOCAY, EI Dorado, Merlot, Sierra Oak Vineyard, 2000. We are very thankful to James for introducing us to this producer. We are not familiar at all with this winery. Here is our review:

"A well rounded Merlot, with a structure which will allow it to be as good or better a few years from now. Begins with a distinctive Napa Merlot nose, offers a variety of rich flavors, nuts, plums, in the palate, and lingers on with a balance of earthy and tannic flavors which clamor for another glass. It is a wine without rough edges -- all rounded. Our rating: 90."

Holy Smokes Sergio !!!!!!!!!

Yes you are right about that wine being better in a few years. Ive kept some of their Merlot for a few years and it improved wonderfully. The nose and color is beautiful. The producer is a small independent winery and the wine is VERY reasonable. I will bring you a few bottles when you are at Westpex. 90 % huh ? Not bad ! Let me see if I can find some of their Cabernets. Im not sure about that first bottle I sent but the Heitz Cellars should be pretty good.
